Gather and Celebrate Equality and Diversity

by Mhairi Chambers

Let me introduce myself and tell you a little of my background.

Burnt out nurse, struggling with my own physical and mental health. However, I remain incredibly proactive in my journey of healing and managing my disabilities through this fragile world we all live in.

I have recently taken to my more creative side as my physical and mental health disabilities, have indeed affected my more interactive fitness ability, survival is no joke! although still determined to enjoy what i can in life.

My art journey is indeed a journey!  A painful and exhaustive healing journey.

Creating literally saved my life and continues to (yes that topic no one likes to discuss; suicide!) I love to work large abstract canvases!  My work is directly related to emotion and exploration of this through expressive use of mixed media. I’m incredibly inspired by the study of human behaviours, interactions, and the societal impact of the world we live in today.

I’m prepared to lean right into my own personal vulnerabilities via art to help others and spread more awareness around mental health and societies impact.
