Gypsy/Travellers, like so many other groups, are regularly and viciously attacked on social media. These attacks, alongside the mainstream media negativity and personal abuse, have a profound impact on people's wellbeing and sense of personal, social and cultural acceptance.
This artwork reflects on the way other people's hatred and aggression are embodied, causing real harm to individuals and ethnic groups.
MECOPP Gypsy/Traveller Carers' Project
MECOPP GYPSY/TRAVELLER CARERS' PROJECT works with carers and their families in the Gypsy/Traveller community to support them in the face of discrimination and barriers to accessing services. The project has a long-term commitment to facilitating creative arts work in the community to express themselves and to tackle discrimination and promote a greater understanding of their culture, traditions and contemporary life.
