Apply for a materials grant 2023 (Now closed)

The Grants:

The purpose of the Artwork Materials Grants is to enable people to take part in Out of Sight Out of Mind exhibition in October 2023, by contributing to the cost of materials used in the making of their artwork.

Apply:

Download a grant application, or request one by post and send it completed by 12pm Monday 19 June 2023. If sending by email please put ‘Materials Grant’ in the subject line.

You don’t have to apply for a grant to take part. Read the call for art post on submitting your art.

If you are having trouble downloading the form or would like a paper copy please get in touch using the details below.

Grant information:

  • Individuals can apply for up to £80

  • Groups can apply for up to £250

  • Grants are for the making of artworks which are submitted to Out of Sight Out of Mind 2023 exhibition (artworks can also be shown elsewhere in addition). Please see information above on making your submission

  • The person using the grant to make artwork must have personal lived experience of a mental health issue

  • If a group is applying, each member must have experience of mental health issues

  • You cannot take part both as an individual and also as part of a group

  • Grants are for costs directly associated with the making of the artwork. For example, materials, framing, printing etc. If you are unsure about what you can apply for, you can submit your application and we will let you know, or you can get in touch to ask beforehand

  • Grants are not for costs such as an exhibitor’s fees, travel, subsistence etc

  • Grants are not for materials for artworks which have already been made

  • You will hear the outcome of your application by 4 July 2023

  • We strive to make sure everyone can take part and we encourage all who would benefit from the grant to apply. Please be aware that grants and exhibition space are limited, and if over-subscribed we may have to adjust grant amounts or limit submissions.
