Join the 2023 OOSOOM Exhibition Team

Joining in can be enjoyable and you will be helping the small team and all the exhibitors. Sometimes it will be busy, sometimes it will feel quiet, and but we always have tea, coffee and snacks! Reda on for dates, information and contact details.

Read about the option to join an orientation session on Monday 18 September at Summerhall here.

Exhibition Set Up: Wed 27 Sep – Tues 10 Oct, Mon – Fri, between 10am and 5pm, & Saturday 30 Sept 10-5pm.

Setting up can involve anything from painting plinths, to taking a turn making teas, putting up posters and helping people move artworks. On set up days lunch is provided. There will be a team from the Planning Group there as well as CAPS staff, and Summerhall staff will do the technical install. Days are varied, they can be very busy or quiet, and they can be fun too. It can be satisfying to see the exhibition come together.

Exhibition Invigilating: Wed 11 – Sun 29 Oct. Wed – Sun, between 11.45am-6.15pm

Join for a whole or a half shift. Half shifts are 11.45am-3.15pm, or 3-6.15pm.

Invigilating involves being at exhibition when it is open, chatting with people as you feel comfortable, and handing out information if needed and taking a tally of visitors. You can sit down as much as you like. Again, you’ll be working beside other exhibitors, volunteers, Planning Group members and CAPS staff. This can be a really interesting and relaxed way to spend time at the exhibition.

Exhibition Take Down: Mon 30 Oct, between 9am and 7pm

Taking artworks off of the walls, helping people to pack up and move their artworks and tidying. We need to clear the exhibition spaces by the end of this day.

Two people at a desk speaking together. There are lots of pieces of paper on the table.
