In Mind
by Lish K
The idea for this piece originated from mindfulness practice. Mindfulness enables me to be present in mind and body whilst navigating mental health issues and to exercise compassion and acceptance.
Even during painfully difficult practice - and life - I aim to be present and witness the world as it is. In contrast to feeling paranoid, judged and scrutinised, I begin to visualise the world closing its eyes and resting softly alongside me.
Cultivating connection with a challenging and chaotic world helps me shed shame and be my own anchor.
