Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh: Diptych

by Lewis Reay

Blue poppies are native to China, but here at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh they are something of note and not the traditional red colour. What is normal in one place is not always normal in another.

Alliums on the other hand are seen in many gardens.

The view of what is normal and what is unusual really depends on your perspective, time, and place. Visits to the Botanic Gardens with my support worker provided me with a sense of the normal and enabled me to see and photograph many different flowers, these are just two.
