Pandemic Perspectives

Bridge & Boat, at Shore, Leith.

In difficult times, -including the Covid-19 crisis and lockdown, - we may very easily focus on the immediate barriers we face; the impenetrable "steel cage" separating us from happiness:… "will life ever get better?"…"is there anything brighter worth living for?" That close-up view can reinforce hopelessness. Or we may take a more long-sighted perspective and see past the bars of our cage to a nicer prospect, - maybe not so far away, - where life will be sunnier and our surroundings much more pleasant. May God help us, while acknowledging present girders, to look beyond them to post-pandemic buoyancy.
